March is fraud protection month

March is Fraud Prevention Month in Canada, and this year's theme is "Tricks of the Trade: What's in a Fraudster's Toolbox? " As part of my ongoing commitment to keeping you informed and our community safe from scams and fraud, I want to take a moment to share some important information with you.

Fraudsters are always looking for new ways to trick people out of their hard-earned money, and this year's theme is about exposing their tactics. From phishing scams and identity theft to fake charities and investment fraud, there are many ways that fraudsters try to take advantage of you. To help you be proactive in protecting yourself from fraud, here are a few resources that you can use to stay informed and educated.

The Canadian Banking Association has created documents geared to seniors, small business owners and individuals that outline common scams and deceptive practices and provides tips on how to avoid them. If you would like to receive a copy or all 3, please let us know here: https://bit.ly/fraude-fraud

I encourage you to learn as much as possible about common and current scams and deceptive practices and how to avoid them. We can help protect ourselves and our community by staying informed and vigilant.

Wishing you a safe and fraud-free month,
