We’re cutting your taxes on July 1st.

Yesterday, Prime Minister Mark Carney announced that our Liberal Government will be delivering on a key campaign promise to lower taxes by over 400$ for over 22 million Canadians that pay federal income tax. It is an important step in the Prime Minister's plan to provide meaningful relief from the rising cost of living.  

As part of Prime Minister Carney's new legislative agenda, the lowest personal income tax rate will be reduced from 15% to 14%, starting July 1st, 2025.  

Once legislated, this change will:  

• Put more money back in the pockets of nearly 22 million Canadians  

• Save the average two-income family up to $840 annually  

• Deliver more than $27 billion in tax relief over five years

This is a big first step, and it's just the first of many initiatives that our Liberal Government will be putting in place to provide financial relief to Canadians, make housing more affordable, and build a stronger, more resilient economy.
