Prime Minister Mark Carney’s recent visit to the United Kingdom marked an important step for Canada. At a time of growing global instability, Canada is deepening its partnerships with trusted allies to strengthen our security and open new opportunities for our Canadian workers and businesses.
The Prime Minister met with the leaders of the UK, Australia, Spain, and Iceland to advance cooperation on trade and shared security priorities. These discussions focused on peace in Europe, continued support for Ukraine, and the urgent need for stability in the Middle East. Canada and the UK also agreed to work more closely on areas such as digital commerce, critical minerals, and clean technology, sectors that are expected to drive economic growth in the years ahead.
The Prime Minister also engaged directly with global investors and business leaders, promoting Canada as one of the most stable and attractive places in the world to invest. This effort is about creating jobs, attracting capital, and ensuring Canadian businesses can compete and succeed in a changing global economy. At the Global Progress Action Summit, Canada played a leading role in shaping policies to ensure workers are at the center of this growth, with the skills and protections they need to thrive.
